For the last 40 days of my life I woke up screaming "Mommy" and rummaging into the kitchen looking for my morning tea. Then spent almost an hour sipping my tea, gossiping, chuckling and giggling... And then the actual day began with a detailed agenda for the day, our To-Do list which included anything and everything from cleaning, cooking to shopping. Ohhhh what a golden period of my life it was!!!
You are my world!!! |
And now she went back to India. I am all alone with some awesome memories and a hugeeeee void and hole in my life both physically and mentally!!! Her room haunted me, I never missed her so much my entire life. The more I tried to hold, the more I cried my eyes out.
She has always been my hero and above all both my Mom & Dad. A happy family was shattered after I lost my Dad.She could have succumbed easily to the pain and hardship inflicted on her at such an early age but she chose to rise and shine. She stayed with us (me and my younger brother) as our education was the only dream Mom and Dad had visioned together. Rather than being dependent on anyone else she paved her own path. Whatever the situations, she never gave up... And as they say "Nothing worth having comes easy". All the hard work, struggles, sacrifices, sleepless nights, downfalls, pain and tears were finally paid off. My brother n me, both are well settled and we are so proud and humbled to have her as our mom- someone who always understood and guided us through toughest of times. All the hardships that we went through made us so strong as a family. :)
Now comes the fun part. :) As a kid I was the most notorious one to handle, who hated to stay at home, would challenge and fight with the boys of my colony, climb trees, play with tyres, cut my mom's new silk saree to make a designer lehnga for my friend's doll's marriage, bring home tadpoles thinking they were cute lil fishes to adorn my moms most vintage glass bowl and what not... If she would scold me at 10 in the morning I would wait for my dad to come at 5 and literally start crying then, complaining about mom, indulging them in a massive fight(I was my dad's fav and I was wicked... :p ) I always wanted to learn cooking but she said "Thats what you have to do for the rest of your life, so you better enjoy now and stay away from kitchen". Now who says that to a daughter??? And all these bedtime stories were narrated to my darling hubby with detailed description of how chivalrous I was!!! :p
I donno what we would have done without you mommy. You are our gravity and I love u bits and pieces!!! Today what I am and hope to be, I owe it all to you...
